BEHS to Host Immaculee Ilibagiza

Date:
Friday, February 2, 2018 - 7:00pm

St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church will host Rwandan genocide survivor Immaculée Ilibagiza for “A story of Faith, Hope and Forgiveness” on Feb. 2 at 7 pm at Bishop England High School. Ilibagiza is a survivor of the 1994 Rwandan genocide that claimed the lives of more than 800,000 people in the span of few months, including her parents and two brothers. For 91 days, she and seven other women hid in a tiny bathroom to avoid becoming victims to the brutal and bloody death experienced by others at the hands of the Hutu militia. Immaculée was later empowered by her faith to forgive the killers that murdered her family and friends. Tickets for the program are $5 each and can be purchased through the church website at www.clare.church.
