BIN 526 OPENS ITS DOORS

BIN 526 is officially open for business! Described on the company’s website as “Daniel Island’s wine cellar,” the new boutique wine bar, craft beer and spirits store welcomed its first customers on Friday, Dec. 15. In addition to offering more than 50 wines by the glass through a state-of-the-art WineStation system, BIN 526 also provides wine education and tastings. An on-site kitchen serves up a variety of appetizers, including cheese and charcuterie.

“We’d like to thank everyone who stopped in over the last few days since we have opened!” stated a post on the shop’s Facebook page. “We are so appreciative of the warm response!”

BIN 526 is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. For more information, visit www.bin526.com.

The new Starbucks of Daniel Island will occupy the left side of the BIN 526 building at 20 Fairchild Street. According to Mike White, BIN 526 founder and partner, the much-anticipated coffee shop is “coming along very nicely” and is slated to open on Dec. 31.

DR. MARC NEW OF DI JOINS COASTAL CAROLINA GASTROENTEROLOGY AND HEPATOLOGY

Gastroenterologist and Daniel Island resident Marc New, MD has returned to the tri-county area and has joined Coastal Carolina Gastroenterology and Hepatology and the medical staff of Trident Health.

“It’s good to be back home,” said Dr. New, who had been practicing in Beaufort, S.C. for the past two years. Prior, he had been on the medical staff at Trident Medical Center. “Both of our children go to Bishop England High School. It’s nice to be able to be part of their activities and to see our friends here on Daniel Island.”

Dr. New earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. His residency was completed at Emory University School of Medicine. He performed his fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia.
