HOME TELECOM BOARD NAMES HELMLY AS CEO

Home Telecom’s board of directors appointed William “Will” S. Helmly as president and chief executive officer last month. Previous CEO, Robert L. Helmly Sr., is continuing to serve on the Home Telecom board as vice-chairman. Prior to being named as president and CEO, Will Helmly has been leading Home Telecom as president and chief operating officer.

“Will is an innovative leader and has enabled Home Telecom to prosper by staying abreast of important growth opportunities since taking over as president and COO in 2004,” said Home Telecom Board Chairman Bryant Barnes. “As growth in the Tri-County region continues to explode, now is the perfect time for Will to take over as CEO to ensure Home Telecom continues to thrive along with the region.”

Helmly joined Home Telecom in 1992 as vice president of engineering and was quickly promoted to executive vice president before being named president and COO in 2004. He has led the company to become one of the first telecoms in the nation to successfully manage a Fiber-To-The-Premises (FTTP) system with its purchase of Daniel Island Media and the first to offer gigabit internet in the state of South Carolina with its 2013 partnership with Nexton.

MIKKI RAMEY OF DI ATTENDS PREMIER REAL ESTATE AGENT FORUM

Daniel Island resident Mikki Ramey of Healthy Realty was selected for the third year in a row to attend the Zillow Premier Agent Forum in Las Vegas, an event that attracts over 2000 realtors from all over the country. This year Ramey was able to take other members of her real estate team to the conference, including Abby Suarez, Shannon Jones, Stephanie Crowder, and Tim Crowder.

According to Ramey, she and her real estate team are in the top one percent of agents for sales in Charleston and will sell over 100 homes this year. Ramey has been voted three years in a row as “the best real estate agent” by the Mom’s Choice Awards from Lowcountry Parent Magazine. Additionally, she is ranked as one of Charleston’s most highly recommended realtors by Zillow with 260 recommendations and counting. The team consists of Mikki, team leader; Abby Suarez, lead buyer’s agent; Shannon Jones, closing coordinator; Paige O’Dell, marketing director and buyer’s agent; and Anthony Bell, buyer’s agent.

During the Zillow session, premier agents interacted with Zillow Group executives, fellow agents, and various other company leaders. During the conference, Zillow announced several new technologies that will help home owners sell their homes more quickly and for top dollar. For example, Zillow will begin to offer free 360-degree tours. Ramey also conducted Facebook live interviews with Spencer Rascoff, Zillow CEO, and Greg Schwartz, Zillow CBO.

“…Each year I am blown away with the new technology that Zillow creates to empower agents to effectively market homes,” added Ramey. “Many consumers don’t realize that the Zillow brand (Zillow, Trulia, Realestate.com) has more unique visitors viewing their site to look for homes than any other real estate website. My amazing real estate team and I plan to implement the new technology to help our clients sell their homes for top dollar and in a timely manner.”
