Daniel Island School Dun Run and Color Run
The inaugural Daniel Island School Fun Run and Color Run, a fundraiser facilitated by the organization Boosterthon to support Engaging Creative Minds, arts in the classroom, teacher support, and other classroom enrichment, took place on Friday, Sept. 28.
Students in grades K through 8 were challenged to collect fundraising pledges for every lap they ran at the event. To get ready for the big day, the Ospreys participated in pep rallies and team huddles to reinforce good character traits. Incentives were provided for individual students, classrooms and grade levels. Assistant Principal Lori Ann Griffin said “We are thrilled that our students rose to the challenge and all the challenges throughout the week that Boosterthon set. Our students had pledges all over the nation, even some from other countries.”
“Our entire staff came together to support our school by volunteering for the many Boosterthon challenges such as pie in the face, ice bucket, karaoke, being duct taped to a light pole, and even being slimed at the fun run event!” added Principal Kori Brown. “We are blessed to have such a supportive school and community family.”
