DI 'Wyldlifers' get wild about their faith!
Middle school students on Daniel Island celebrated another fun-filled year of faith building and fellowship at their Annual “Wyldlife” Paint Wars extravaganza on May 2 in the fields beside the Daniel Island Real Estate Sales Center. Those taking part in Wyldlife, a Charleston Young Life program that targets kids in grades 6-8, showed their true colors at the highly anticipated event. The last official meeting of the year for Wyldlife took place on April 11 in the garage of island residents Kevin and Catherine Brookes, who, along with several other committee members, helped launch the program on Daniel Island back in 2009.
“I did not just like Wyldlife,” said Taylor Jenkins, an 8th grader who took part in the program this past season. “…I loved it, because we often grow apart from God, but every Monday night I was brought back to him, through my leaders, friends, games and music.”
The island is also home to a Young Life program for high school students. Both Wyldlife and Young Life will return for regular seasons this fall. For additional information, contact Tracey Lengyel via email at tlengyel91@gmail.com or call (412) 852-2123.
