DIHS Program on Lords Proprieters

What do you really know about the Lords Proprietors and early governors of Carolina? Recognize names like Cooper, Berkeley, Colleton and Monck? Learn more at the Tuesday, March 20 Daniel Island Historical Society meeting, to be held at 7 pm at Church of the Holy Cross. Guest speaker Robert Stockton, who teaches the history of Charleston architecture at the College of Charleston, will be a guide to these historic figures with an emphasis on Daniel Island’s namesake - Robert Daniell. Stockton is the author of “The Great Shock,” which examines the 1886 Charleston earthquake.
