Island businesses donate big to worthy causes Earlier this month, Benefitfocus presented a check for $25,000 to the Palmetto Region of the American Red Cross in relation to the company’s Giving Tuesday match incentive. For their 2019 Holiday Giving Campaign, Benefitfocus stepped up as a partner to match gifts given on Giving Tuesday, up to $25,000. Movement Mortgage, a Daniel Island based company, and its Movement Foundation, recently presented Tri-County Veterans Support Network with a $17,390 check. The Movement Foundation donated $20 per hour for volunteer efforts by each of the company’s employees from October through December 2019. With more than 869 hours of volunteer service, the foundation raised $17,390 to donate to the local organization. The program was headed up by Senior Mortgage Loan Officer Tamara Vandiver, who works passionately with the Veterans Support Network.
