A new way to play!
Kindergartners at Daniel Island School are enjoying a spruced up new playground, thanks to the collective efforts of several entities. According to DIS kindergarten teacher Laura Burns, the space has been transformed “with the help and support of our PTA, Jill Shively and Erica Hamilton, Elizabeth Anderson, artists from the Charleston Young Artist Guild and of course our administrators, especially Ruth Butka.” Colorful designs now line the sidewalks in and around the playground, adding fun new directions for play.
“We have added lots of action-based learning activities which helps students’ cognitive and physical development,” continued Burns.
