American Flags to Fly High on Daniel Island for Inagural Field of Honor

The Daniel Island Exchange Club Celebrates Our Hometown Heroes

The Daniel Island Exchange Club Celebrates Our Hometown Heroes The Daniel Island Exchange Club hosts the Inaugural Field of Honor® celebrating our hometown heroes, June 25 to July 5, 2016 on Daniel Island. The Field of Honor® will feature 250 flags and fly for ten days, honoring hometown heroes including; military personnel, first responders, medical professionals, teachers, or any hero in your life you would like to honor.

Lowcountry residents interested in acknowledging their hometown hero(es) can make a donation of $25 per flag in honor of their loved one and hero by logging on to: www.healingfield.org/danielisland16. Flag memorials can also be purchased throughout the month at the Daniel Island Exchange Club tent at the Daniel Island Farmer’s Market. For more information on how to purchase contact Kristin Power at kpower03@bellsouth.net.

On June 25, when the field is erected, sponsored flags will contain a yellow ribbon with the name of your honored loved one and will fly proudly through July 5th. Stop by the field throughout the week to visit your flag with friends and family. Upon completion of the field, you can take your sponsored flag home with you, or you can donate it back to the Daniel Island Exchange Club for use in next year’s Field of Honor®.

“We are so excited to bring this event to Daniel Island,” said Kristin Power, event chair and Daniel Island Exchange Club Member. “It’s a great way to honor not only our Military and first responders, but any individual that has had a profound impact in our lives from medical professionals, to teachers, and so on -- All the individuals that make us better people and our country a better place.”

The presentation of the Field of Honor® has been made possible thanks to generous sponsor donations from The Charleston Exchange Club, Crews Subaru, Crews Chevrolet and The Daniel Island Community Fund. All proceeds from the 2016 Field of Honor® will benefit the Veterans program at One80 Place.
