Annual One Walk supports diabetes research
Charleston’s Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or JDRF, will celebrate its 11th annual One Walk on Sunday, March 8, at Smythe Park on Daniel Island. The family oriented event will kick off at 12:30 p.m. with jump castles, games, and music from Y102.5. The 1.2 mile walk will begin at 2:20 p.m. Come enjoy a fun day outside and help support research efforts for finding a cure for type 1 diabetes. Strollers and pets welcome!
Participating in the local walk raises money to support life-changing breakthroughs that give hope to everyone impacted by type 1 diabetes. The autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults suddenly has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle and can be stressful to manage. JDRF One Walk has one goal: to create a world without type 1 diabetes. To donate or register for the walk, visit https://www.jdrf.org/palmetto.
