Best of the show!

“They were all winners in our minds for going to all of the effort that they did!” exclaimed Barbara McLaughlin of the Daniel Island Property Owners Association, when asked who came out on top in the recent Concert in the Park “Best Picnic Spread” competition.

But a few did stand out among the many creative and fun-spirited entries on display at the event, held at Smythe Park on May 27. Taking top honors were the “Baywatch” themed spread and the “Daniel Island Castaways.” The two runners-up were “Doin’ the Charleston” and “Aloha.” The top two winning groups were awarded funds to donate to a local charity. The Baywatch crew selected Vantage Point Foundation, an organization that helps support post 9/11 veterans transition to civilian life. And the Castaways selected the Charleston Animal Society.
