Capt. concocts stock market-fishing theory

Just when we thought winter was over, a strong cold front brought high winds, cold temperatures and rain to the Lowcountry. Conditions were so awful that I did not go fishing all week long. That is not a typo. No fishing for a full seven days!
Much to my surprise, the world did not end and Brody, the amazing fish-finding dog, did not run away from home. However, the stock market was down. Could there be a correlation? I may be on to something big! If the weather does not improve (and let me go fishing), the unprecedented bull market may turn bearish. The Fed may cut interest rates. The global economy may contract. Who knew so much depended upon whether I fish or not? In the interest of world stability, I will fish this week. (Can you tell I am bored?)
While I did not fish, my brother David and brother-in-law Steve did brave the elements and they did catch fish. Adding insult to injury, Steve even wore short pants! Of course, they were quick to send me a picture with the text message “You missed it.” This text was followed by another message, “Want us to write your Daniel Island News article for you?” A few minutes later, another text message read, “Brody wants us to pick him up.”
So, now you know why I fish so much. The world economy may depend upon it. Additionally, my family and my dog make fun of me when I don’t!
