Daniel Island Farmers Market input wanted

A revamped Daniel Island Farmers Market is being considered for 2019 and the Daniel Island Property Owners Association is currently engaged in the initial planning process. A key component in the effort is to gain resident feedback and gauge levels of interest via a Daniel Island Farmers Market Community Survey.

According to a POA press release on the topic, a successful farmers market facilitates personal connections and ongoing relationships between farmers, vendors and shoppers in a community and offers a gathering place where farmers and small businesses sell their fresh, local products directly to consumers.

This survey will serve as a tool to assist the POA in focusing its efforts on what the Daniel Island residents want or don’t want in a market and what types of products they would be interested in purchasing on a regular basis. Answers to the survey questions will help the POA gather information and will assist in moving the plan forward in a direction that will be mutually beneficial to the consumer and the vendors.

In addition to receiving input on the market itself, the POA office is looking for a volunteer committee to help with the planning and logistics of the event.

This survey is now open and will close on Tuesday, Sept. 18. To take the survey, visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RGBS6MH.
