CHILDREN’S STORYTIME Mondays - 10:30 and 11 a.m.

FROM THE SHORES OF TRIPOLI TO THE HALLS OF BAGHDAD Thursday – December 1, 10:30 a.m.
to 12 p.m.
Join Dr. Lester Pittman to examine the evolution of American interests and policies in the Middle East. Learn how nationalism, Israel, oil, religion, the Cold War, and terrorism have influenced relations between the United States and the peoples and states of the Middle East.

THE BOOKMOBILE IS COMING!! Saturday – December 3, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Berkeley County Library Bookmobile will be making a special stop at the Daniel Island Holiday Festival this year. Come and listen to a holiday story read by Miss Barbara. Get a library card. Learn about all of the latest offerings like “HOOPLA.” Stop by and check it out.

FRIDAY FUN
Trees & Ornaments - December 4, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Once a month we will craft something new, decorative and seasonal recycling old books. All supplies provided. Please register due to limited space.

TEEN/TWEEN HANGOUT
Monday - December 5, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Join us as we make some holiday ornaments!

HOUR OF CODE
Wednesday - December 7,
1:30 to 3 p.m.
Bring along your smartphone and join in the fun. The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify “code”, to show that anybody can learn the basics. There will be an hour long self-guided tutorial for students ages 8-14.

DI LIBRARY BOOK CLUB
Tuesday - 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

SANTA CLAUS IN THE STACKS
Wednesday - December 21, 10:30 to 11 a.m.
Santa is almost ready for his travels around the world but before he takes flight a visit to the library is in store. Snap a picture with the jolly guy and have your list to remind him so he doesn’t pass you by.

RECORDER CLASS
Tuesdays - 2 to 3 p.m.
For beginning or “rusty” adults and teens who want to learn to play in a group setting. Prior recorder or other musical experience not required.

PAWS FOR READING
Saturdays – 12 to 1:30 p.m.
This program is designed to help children who are struggling with their reading skills, when compared to peers their age, by reading to a certified therapy dog. It encourages children to read by providing a non-judgmental listener and furry friend to read to. Session is 20 minutes, by appointment only.

ZEN COLORING
Thursdays – 1 to 3 p.m.
Color away your problems and feel the positive energy flow as you create your own masterpiece. All supplies provided.

SECRET SANTA FOR SENIORS
The Daniel Island Library is happy to serve as a drop off location for the Trident Area Agency on Aging “Secret Santa for Seniors” program. The holidays can be a lonely time for many seniors who do not have family or friends to celebrate with. With your help we can put a smile on a senior’s face by donating one of these gifts; Socks, Slippers, Blankets, Kitchen & Bath Towels. Drop them in the box located in the library lobby until December 16.

DI NEEDLEWORKERS
Alternate Tuesdays - 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (meets only on December 6 this month)

WRITERS’ GROUP
Every first Tuesday - 6:30 to 8 p.m. (December 6)
