TEN YEARS AGO – Summertime favorites
The centerspread in the July 10, 2008 issue of The Daniel Island News was filled with yummy summertime recipe favorites, from ice cream sandwiches to chocolate latte milk shakes. There was also information about how to beat the heat, such as staying hydrated, eating lightly and dressing in light clothes.
In addition, the issue featured an article announcing the opening of the Daniel Island Grille on Seven Farms Drive. The new restaurant was set to be a sports pub and eatery located in the space formerly occupied by Arlaana restaurant. The Daniel Island Grille is still thriving today!
FIVE YEARS AGO – Summit Place turned 10
The July 11, 2013 issue of The Daniel Island News featured an article on Summit Place’s 10th anniversary on the island. Reaching that milestone validated the extraordinary contributions of many of the caregivers at the assisted living facility who have served this community since its inception and remain part of the care team today.
In business news, Where to Retire magazine once again named Daniel Island among the “50 Best Master-Planned Communities in the U.S.” The magazine featured its biennial list of the country’s most livable planned communities in the summer’s July/August issue. It was the fifth time that Daniel Island had been included on the list.
