FIFTEEN YEARS AGO

In the March 10, 2005, edition of the paper, the cover and centerfold featured several multigenerational families living on Daniel Island. The Theos, Hussey and Vail/Pace families were all featured. All three families had three generations living on the island.

In business news, Curves on Daniel Island celebrated its one-year anniversary. The fitness center was located in the Publix shopping center in one of the storefronts currently occupied by Charter One Mortgage and Lucia’s Premium Pet.

TEN YEARS AGO

In the March 11, 2010, edition of the paper, the cover featured a story about more than 30 local women training for a 10K mud run in Jacksonville, Florida, to support MS research.

In business news, NBSC took steps to foreclose on The Charleston Club (located in the Ryland Square Building) as well as parts of individually owned units in the BB&T Building. Both buildings are located at the intersection of Seven Farms and River Landing Drives.

The centerfold focused on increased electric costs and included information about a new rate increase proposed by SCE&G and detailed energy savings tips for homeowners.

FIVE YEARS AGO

The cover and centerfold of the March 12, 2015, edition of the paper included pictures and information about local spiders. The article identified the brown recluse and black and brown widows, and also provided ways to make your home spider proof.

In other news, there was an article on local teen Hannah Burns, who was participating in Charleston Fashion Week. And it was reported some area high school students were excited about an announcement that Young Life would be launched on Daniel Island.
