DI News History - March 24, 2016

TEN YEARS AGO
In the March 24, 2011 issue of The Daniel Island News the top story was about budget cuts within the Berkeley County School. The cuts were hitting close to home - the Daniel Island School, as well as the district’s other 39 schools, will need to tighten purse strings yet again in the wake of the district’s anticipated $12 to $15 million budget shortfall for the 2011-2012 school year.
In our How’s Business feature, we highlighted Momentum Marketing. Owner Pam Hartley moved into Daniel Island office space in 2010 and her business flourished, noting that in 2011 her “clients began to spend money to attract customers again (after the recession), consumers began spending again, and for the first time since mid-2008, our clients’ businesses posted increased sales month to month vs. just maintaining.” Momentum Marketing continues to grow and flourish on Daniel Island in 2016.
