FIVE YEARS AGO – DI refuses to be idle
An interesting article in the September 18, 2013 issue of The Daniel Island News featured results from a survey conducted by The Daniel Island News about islanders and exercise habits. It was reported that the majority of survey responders work out at a gym or studio. Also, when questioned whether or not they exercised on the trails on the island, over 50 percent said yes. Other options for exercise on the island included yoga, CrossFit, Zumba, Peace Love Hip Hop, karate, and bootcamps.
In other happenings on the island, the Berkeley County library on Daniel Island hosted a “Molly Manners” program geared to elementary-aged children. The program, titled “Learn to Zap Bullies,” included a craft activity as well as naming strategies for warding off bullies. From being kind, to standing up for yourself, to banding together, children learned how to “zap” bullies.
