Bulldozers began clearing the field at the corner of Seven Farms Drive and Daniel Island Drive for construction on the Humanities Foundation project, which had cleared a zoning challenge by the Daniel Island Neighborhood Association (DINA). The Sept. 2, 2010, edition featured photos from readers’ summer vacations. You could tell that islanders were very adventurous during that summer with images of whitewater rafting, rock climbing, walking the Golden Gate Bridge and, of course, lots of time at the beach.

The cover article featured Bob Tuten, a former Daniel Island resident, and how he visited the area for the first time in 70 years. He lived on the island from 1935 to 1941. Another story reported an announcement that city and county leaders would be holding a community meeting to discuss traffic improvements and other updates on neighborhood projects.

In the Sept. 3, 2015, edition, winners of the Color My World Photo Contest put on by the Daniel Island News were showcased. The winning photos published showed the amateur photography talent present on Daniel Island!
