September 28, 2006: 
 
The cover and centerfold featured stories about disaster scenarios for Daniel Island, including a book published by Richard N. Côté called “City of Heroes: The Great Charleston Earthquake of 1886.” 
 
In other news, two islanders running for school board, Don Rose and Dan Kingsbury, debated incumbent school board member Francis Brewer.
 
In the “What I Do” feature, Angie Barnes, earth-friendly entrepreneur, was interviewed. This Daniel Island business woman was helping locals with her new home-cleaning service, Naturally Maid, which uses only all natural products.
 
September 29, 2011: 
 
The Loco sprint triathlon was featured on the cover and with additional photos inside the paper. Photos included participation by island physicians Isabel Driggers and Charlie Turner. Proceeds benefited the MUSC Center for Drug and Alcohol Programs. The race itself was postponed due to Hurricane Irene earlier in the year.
 
In other news, pioneering islander Greg Rawls won the 2012 design contest for the Cooper River Bridge Run as his kiln-formed glass structure of a bridge sunset was transferred to a two-dimensional rendering for use on the thousands of posters and T-shirts that were produced for the 2012 Cooper River Bridge Run.
 
September 29, 2016: 
 
The cover and centerfold featured the Fields to Families program, which is a nonprofit initiative that paired locally grown produce with those in need in the Lowcountry. Since its inception in 2006, Fields to Families has distributed more than 600,000 pounds of food to Lowcountry residents.
 
Also in the news, Daniel Island-based Volvo Car Open, one of the largest women’s-only tennis tournaments in the world, signed a wide-ranging, eight-year media rights agreement with Tennis Channel.
