Engagin creative minds at DIS!
Creative energy was flowing among a group of sixth grade students at Daniel Island School during a recent program led by local attorney, mediator and children’s book author Catherine Wilhoit, Esq. The session was made possible through Engaging Creative Minds (ECM), a non-profit organization that seeks to “inspire students to become imaginative, adaptable and productive adults, resulting in stronger communities and a more capable South Carolina workforce.” Wilhoit spent a week with the DIS students and their teacher, Ginger Colvin, focusing on conflict resolution. She also led them through acting, drawing, painting, games, and creative brainstorming to help them determine positive, fair solutions to “real life” problems.
