Government Meeting Reports

These are the issues coming before various City of Charleston boards and committees that are specific to Daniel Island and the Cainhoy area. All meetings are open for public comment except the TRC meetings.
 
City of Charleston Technical Review Committee (TRC):
 
A meeting of the City of Charleston Technical Review Committee will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 2 via Zoom. There are no agenda items for Daniel Island or the Cainhoy peninsula area.
 
City of Charleston Planning Commission:
 
The following area applications were reviewed at the June 17 meeting:
 
• The First Light subdivision concept plan at Point Hope Parkway and Seven Sticks. 26 lots on 22.9 acres. Property owner: Cainhoy Lumber & Timber LLC. Plans were reviewed by the Design Review Board and Planning Commission. The commission recommended approval 8-0.
 
City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals-Site Design (BZA-SD):
 
A meeting of the BZA-SD was held Wednesday, July 1 at 5 p.m., via Zoom. The following items was reviewed:
 
● 161 Seven Farms Drive  (TMS#275-00-00-078 & 183) — Request a variance from Sec. 54-327 to allow the removal of four grand trees. Request a variance from Sec. 54-330 to allow a reduced impervious construction setback near the bases of four grand trees. Owner: City of Charleston. Applicant: SeamonWhiteside+
 
● Fairbanks Drive, Daniel Island (TMS#271-00-00-010) — Request a variance from Sec. 54-327 to allow the removal of eight grand trees. Owner: Stanley Martin Homes. Applicant: SeamonWhiteside+
 
Information on each application, including documents submitted by the applicant, will be available online at www.charleston-sc.gov/bza-sd one week prior to the meeting.
