Hootie & The Blowfish 'Homegrown Concert' to return for 16th year

Tickets to DI events sold out in first three hours

In a matter of three short hours after tickets for the 16th annual Hootie and The Blowfish Homegrown Concert went on sale on Ticketmaster, they were completely sold out, according to Jennifer Ferrell, director of ticketing for the Volvo Car Stadium.

That makes a total of 12,600 tickets sold between the two nights of the event, Ferrell added.

Taking place on Aug. 10 and 11 at the Volvo Car Stadium on Daniel Island, this year’s shows will open with direct support from the local Charleston band, Blue Dogs. If interested in taking a listen, all nine of their recordings are available on iTunes and other digital portals. CD’s, DVD’s and other merchandise are also offered at their website, www.bluedogs.com.

Comprised of artists Mark Bryan, Dean Felber, Darius Rucker and Jim “Soni” Sonefeld, the Grammy Award-winning Hootie and The Blowfish entourage is excited to once again take the stage so close to home.

“There’s nothing quite like being able to play a tour-sized show in your hometown,” said Bryan. “It’s truly become a big reunion that’s all about giving back. I get fired up for it every year.”
