Land use and zoning activities on Daniel Island
These are the issues being brought before the various City of Charleston boards and committees that are specific to land use and zoning on Daniel Island. City of Charleston Technical Review Committee (TRC) — At the TRC’s Oct. 5 meeting, committee members discussed road construction and multi-family development on Daniel Island’s Farr Street. The road construction plan is next slated to go before the Planning Commission and the multi-family development will head to the BZA-SD. The next TRC meeting will take place on Oct. 12. The agenda includes the site plan for two commercial buildings at Daniel Island Town Center on Daniel Island Drive.
City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Site Design (BZA-SD) — The next meeting will take place on Nov. 1 (agenda not yet published).
City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Zoning (BZA-Z) — The next meeting will take place on Oct. 17 (agenda not yet published).
City of Charleston Design Review Board (DRB) — The next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 16. Two items of impact to Daniel Island: (1) A request for final approval for the design of two covered parking spaces at 145 River Landing Drive and (2) the request for conceptual approval for an addition and renovation of the Daniel Island Publix store.
City of Charleston Planning Commission (PC) — The next meeting will take place on Oct. 18 (agenda not yet published).
