Land use and zoning activities on Daniel Island

These are the issues being brought before the various City of Charleston boards and committees that are specific to land use and zoning on Daniel Island. City of Charleston Technical Review Committee (TRC) — The next meeting will be held on Dec. 14 with no issues of impact to Daniel Island on the agenda.

City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Site Design (BZA-SD) — The next meeting will take place on Jan. 3. The agenda is not yet published.

City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Zoning (BZA-Z) — The next meeting will be held on Dec. 19 with no issues of impact to Daniel Island on the agenda.

City of Charleston Design Review Board (DRB) — The most recent meeting took place on Dec. 4. Developers of proposed projects at 297 Seven Farms Dr. and 186 Seven Farms Dr. requested conceptual approval for the construction of new commercial buildings. Those concepts were approved, and various elements of each design are to be restudied. The board approved 145 River Landing Drive’s requested final approval for the design of two new covered parking spaces. The next meeting will take place on Dec. 18. The agenda is not yet published.

City of Charleston Planning Commission (PC) — The next meeting will take place on Dec. 20. On the agenda to discuss is the request for subdivision concept plan approval for Fairbanks Drive that was deferred at the Nov. 15 meeting.
