Land use and zoning activities on Daniel Island

These are the issues being brought before the various City of Charleston boards and committees that are specific to land use and zoning on Daniel Island. All meetings are open for public comment except the TRC meetings. City of Charleston Technical Review Committee (TRC) — At the most recent meeting on June 27, the Robert Daniel Drive preliminary subdivision plat was given minor comments and after in-house approval is to be submitted to Planning; and the road construction plan was given minor comments and after in-house approval is to be submitted to Engineering for stamping. The Woodfield apartment complex site plan (Daniel Island) needs to be revised and resubmitted to TRC. The Oak Bluff Phase 1C preliminary subdivision plat (Cainhoy peninsula) was given minor comments and after in-house approval is to be submitted to Planning; and the road construction plan needs to be revised and resubmitted to TRC. The next meeting will be held on July 11, and on the agenda to discuss are the construction plans for a mixed-use development on Daniel Island (The Waterfront, formerly known as River Landing Village) and a subdivision concept plan on Lesesne Street.

City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Site Design (BZA-SD) — At the most recent meeting on July 3, the request for a variance from Sec. 54-327 to allow the removal of one grand tree at 145 Nobels Point Street was discussed.

City of Charleston Design Review Board (DRB) — The next meeting will be held on July 15. The agenda is not yet published.

City of Charleston Planning Commission (PC) — The next meeting will be held on July 17. The agenda is not yet published.
