Letter to the Editor - March 23, 2017

With all the divisiveness in the national news, it’s time for a positive story.

On Monday, March 6, while training for the upcoming Cooper River Bridge Run, I was running on Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant toward Chuck Dawley Boulevard. An ambulance approached from behind me, and, just as it started to pass, turned on its sirens. This unexpected loud noise so close startled me and I looked to see what was happening. This surprise, plus the cracked sidewalk, caused me to fall and incur several injuries.

As soon as I hit the sidewalk, a woman driving past immediately stopped her car and came to my aid. Her name was Victoria. She called 911, helped stop my bleeding, and said a prayer for my safety. Victoria stayed with me until the police and EMS arrived.

Thank you, Victoria, wherever you are for your care, compassion and prayers. This world is a better place because of you.
