In Memorium: Richard Sommerfeld

Richard Sommerfeld passed away peacefully the evening of November 5 at Somerby in Mt. Pleasant. He was 87 and had been fighting Parkinson’s disease. Richard was an active participant on Daniel Island, serving to improve the Daniel Island community, writing the Passing Parade column for The Daniel Island News, and sharing his wit and wisdom with a wide variety of friends on the island. He enjoyed collecting art, attending plays, and volunteering on the annual Charleston Tour of Homes. He is missed by many friends, his brother Ken (wife Roberta), children Susan, Gretchen, and Eric and grandchildren Miles, Sean and Lauren.
