The winner of the Mystery Photo Contest from Nov. 25 is Jim Murphy, who correctly identified the picture as part of the banner for the Daniel Island Yacht Club.
He and his wife have lived here for 23 years. “I love the walking trails, the tennis stadium, rec center, the new waterfront and access to some great restaurants,” he said.
Murphy, who spent 38 years as a salesperson and manager and in the lumber business, recently retired after spending the last 14 years as a residential and commercial property inspector in the Charleston area.
This is his first time entering the contest. He said, “I grew up on the water in my youth sailing, fishing, and boating, which I continue to do now. I have been a member and visited several yacht clubs in my life so it was natural for me to recognize immediately the ‘burgee’ for the Daniel Island Yacht Club as all clubs have a distinctive one for their club.”
