Mystery Photo Contest - November 29, 2018

In honor of the 15th anniversary of The Daniel Island News, we are bringing back a former favorite feature – the Mystery Photo Contest! Each week, we will print a photo of a scene or object found on Daniel Island. Guess what is depicted in the picture and send your response to mysterypic@thedanielislandnews.com by noon on Saturday. A winner will be chosen randomly from those who answer correctly and announced in the following week’s issue.

Six-year-old Daniel Island resident Jacob Stechmesser guessed correctly in last week’s Mystery Photo Contest. Jacob identified the image in the photo as the back of a sea turtle statue at Children’s Park on Daniel Island.

A native of England, Jacob moved to Daniel Island three and a half years ago. He is a kindergarten student at Daniel Island School.

This is the first time Jacob has participated in The Daniel Island News Mystery Photo Contest. His mom, Kelly, told us “he recognized the turtles because he loves Children’s Park as well as the fishing pier and riding his bicycle on the trails.” When Jacob is not in school, or visiting Children’s Park, he enjoys play dates with his friends.
