Planning Commission defers Fairbanks Drive subdivision request

A request to approve a 90-lot subdivision concept plan for Fairbanks Drive on Daniel Island was deferred by the City of Charleston Planning Commission on Aug. 16. The 16.78 acre area where the subdivision would be located, if approved, is currently zoned “Daniel Island General Office” or DI-GO. The property is owned by Daniel Island Riverside Developers, LLC. It is not yet known when the Planning Commission will take up the request again.

Two other requests on the commission’s agenda on Aug. 16 were approved. On a 16.32 acre plot known as “Parcel J-2” on Robert Daniel Drive, a subdivision concept plan for four lots was given a thumbs up. Daniel Island Associates, LLC, is listed as owner of the parcel. In addition, approval was granted on a subdivision concept plan for five lots on a 16.18 acre parcel on Parkline Avenue. The owner of that property is listed as The Daniel Island Company.
