Univ. School of Lowcountry students take top prize in Regional Quiz Bowl competion
Middle school students from University School of the Lowcountry competed in the South Carolina Independent School Association Regional Quiz Bowl competition on February 7 and took home top honors. The students competed against Calhoun Academy, Dorchester Academy, and The Georgetown School, earning a 3-0 record and first place in the region for the fourth time in five years.
Team members include Charlotte Adragna, Bailey Chave, Kessler Kreutner-Eady, Caitlin Parkman (of Daniel Island), Conor Seng, and Leo Vaglienti. Fellow USL students Emma Bluestein and Mikhael Douglass served as mentors for the team.
The victory earned the team an opportunity to compete at the SCISA State Quiz Bowl Championship on February 15, where they went 1-1 against the eventual champion of the day.
