Wonder Works' FREE Holiday Elfstravaganza is November 14

A fun-filled, magical festival will ensue at Wonder Works’ 5th Annual Holiday Elfstravaganza in Belle Hall Shopping Center in Mount Pleasant on Saturday, November 14, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Each year Charleston’s most beloved toy store, Wonder Works, is transformed into a holiday wonderland for a day filled with free activities, holiday treats, and of course the hottest toys of the season.

This year’s Elfstravaganza theme is out of this world, literally. “Since the new Star Wars movie is coming out in December, we have taken Elfstravaganza to the next level,” said Christine Osborne, owner and head magic maker at Wonder Works. “The event will not be short of any Star Wars themed activities and surprises.” In fact, the official 501st Legion Carolina Garrison will be there for all Star Wars fans.

Elfstravaganza takes place at Wonder Works on Long Point Road in Mount Pleasant, just five minutes from Daniel Island. With Daniel Island Park Day happening the same day from 11 .am. -4 p.m., Elfstravaganza organizers encourage islanders to stop by before or after Park Day. “We love that the community can take advantage of two fun-filled events for kids in one day,” said Osborne.

Over 20 toy companies will have new toys and fun games out to play with from Mattel, Crayola, Jelly Belly, Orb Factory, Schylling, Odyssey Toys, Toysmith, License 2 Play, and many more. The locally made Swurfer will be a crowd pleaser where kids can swing from the ropes of one of Wonder Work’s top toy picks of the year. “We have more toy vendors this year than ever before!” said Osborne.

Kids can let their creative genius run wild at a plethora of arts and crafts tents including the Crayola Coloring Tent and the Mattel Building World. Face painting, writing letters to Santa, decorating cookies, and more free activities will be available all day for event goers.

Live magic shows from local, teen magician Caleb Alexander will have children and families in awe, along with live performances from local artist Haley Mae Campbell and the Lauren Hall Band. In typical Wonder Works fashion, every child in attendance will receive a free toy.

This holiday event wouldn’t be complete without photos with everyone’s favorite Elf on the Shelf, while Chanda Bell, author of The Elf on the Shelf®: A Christmas Tradition will be signing copies of her beloved book.

Osborne said, “It’s all free, and it’s all fun. Our mission with this event is to kick off the holiday season with what makes kids excited! And to top it off, we focus on what really matters – which is giving back to our community.”

Local charities will also host activity stations to raise money for their causes including Keys for Hope, Hugs for Harper, Samaritan’s Purse, and MUSC Children’s Hospital.

“We’re so grateful to Crayola, Harris Teeter, the Town of Mount Pleasant and Belle Hall Shopping Center for sponsoring our free event,” added Osborne. “Their contributions enable us to do so much more for the kids.”

Free Parking for Elfstravaganza is available at Belle Hall Shopping Center and Seacoast Church. For more information on activities and fun visit www.WonderWorksToys.com.
