The Big Pet Edition is coming soon – send your pet photos & stories

We love our pets! Each summer we publish the Big Pet Edition and feature your pets. This year, our Big Pet Edition will be published on July 21. 

 

We invite you to be a part of this special publication. It will include original stories from our reporters as well as reader submitted photos of your pets.

 

To have your pet included, please send your pet photos(s), together with up to 50 words about your pet, to sdetar@thedanielislandnews.com. The deadline to submit photos is Friday, July 15, at 4 p.m.

 

This year, thanks to Charlestowne Realty, we are premiering an Instagram short video contest. We encourage you to share your videos on Instagram of your pets doing fun, adorable - and for those of you who remember Late Night with David Letterman – stupid pet tricks. 

 

The person who submits the winning video will win a total of $50 in gift certificates to our island pet stores – $25 to Lucia’s Premium Pets and $25 to Michael’s Barkery – and will be featured in an article in the Big Pet Edition.

 

How to Enter the Instagram Fun and Adorable Pet Trick Contest

Post a short video on Instagram of your pet doing a trick. We like funny and stupid!

 

Your video post must include these tags and hashtags: @thedanielislandnews, #dipettricks2022

 

To be eligible you must enter by 9 a.m. on Monday, July 11.

 

Per Instagram rules, this promotion is in no way sponsored, administered, or associated with Instagram, Inc. By entering, entrants confirm that they are 18 years of age, release Instagram of responsibility, and agree to Instagram’s terms of use.

 

Winners will be announced in The Daniel Island News Big Pet Edition on July 21 and on Instagram on July 21.

 

Details about Pet Photo Submissions

 

Open to all ages. Multiple entries are permitted.

 

By submitting photos, you agree that The Daniel Island News reserves the right to publish submitted photos in the Big Pet Edition and in future editions, as well as on social media.

 

If people are in the photos, a waiver must accompany the submission. Contact our office for a waiver form. Due date is 4 p.m. on Friday, July 15.
