Reader urges bikers to pay attention to rules of the road
What gives bicyclists the right to go through stop signs and red lights? I thought they were supposed to follow driving rules of a vehicle.
Twice last week I had a close call. Once as I was about to pull out of Barfield Street at the library a person on a bike went flying through the intersection (towards Smythe Park). In the other incident, a biker turned right at the Seven Farms Drive - Daniel Island Drive intersection next to the apartments (again towards Smythe) through a red light, without slowing down or stopping. That same person then went through a stop sign in front of the car in front of me. I wish people would use common sense, and follow rules of the road so no one gets injured.
