TAKING RESPONSIBILITY
On my morning run today I saw something special I want to pass along to the Daniel Island community. At first it doesn’t sound special: a woman taking her dog for a walk and cleaning up after him. However, the woman was in a wheelchair!
I started to walk over to help her; but, by the time I reached her, she had completed her task. I complimented her for taking responsibility for her pet.
She replied, “I wish everyone would do the same thing when they walk their dogs.”
It makes me wonder, if a physically-challenged person can take personal responsibility for her dog, why so many able-bodied residents either let their dogs run loose or, even when leashed, ignore the mess that their pets have made.
Respectfully,
