Southern Living selects Daniel Island for 2006 Idea House
Daniel Island has been selected by Southern Living magazine as the site of a 2006 Idea House, the magazine announced last week. The Southern Living Idea House at Daniel Island will be open for tours from June through October and will be featured in the August 2006 issue of Southern Living. A majority of the proceeds from tours of the home will benefit a local charity. One of three 2006 Idea Houses, readers will have an opportunity to see Southern Living style up close and personal by touring the home, which will provide an abundance of ideas for homeowners. The Southern Living Idea House at Daniel Island is built with an updated traditional style, featuring a rambling porch, brick-and-siding exteriors, and an intimate garden behind the house. The four- bedroom, five-and-a-half bath home also features a summer porch complete with a built-in grill, allowing for outdoor living year-round. Crosby Construction, Inc. of Charleston is currently building the Southern Living Idea House, which was designed by L. Mitchell Ginn & Associates of Newnan, Ga. Margaret Donaldson Interiors of Charleston is the interior design firm, and Robert Chesnut of Charleston will provide landscape design services. Southern Living Idea Houses feature great floor plans, wonderful architectural details, and beautiful, livable interiors.
