'Twas the Night Before Komen

***image1***‘Twas the night before Komen and all through the house

Not a creature was stirring – well, maybe a mouse.

The running shoes were lined up and ready to go . ..

Chips tied on tightly so your race time you’d know.

Numbers were pinned on the shirts to be worn,

Shorts, socks, and watches wait to be adorned.

The runners were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of pink ribbons danced in their heads.

The walkers too were ready for action

The night’s pasta supper met with much satisfaction.

So race day came, everyone lined up with vim

Walkers to walk, and runners to win.

Breakfast was standard fare – nothing new;

Coffee or toast – something simple will do.

They came from close by, they came from afar,

They came by foot, they came by car.

No matter from whence or by what means they came,

Everyone came to play the same game.

The reason to run the Komen race is clear,

Awareness for something that to many is dear.

Susan G. Komen lost her fight with breast cancer

But if you run the race you can help fund the answer.

So come one, come all at 8 a.m. this Saturday –

If you haven’t signed up yet, do it now, don’t delay!

Log on right now – what a small price to afford!
