December 2018 Real Estate Report
Sales during the month of December on Daniel Island remained about the same as in November. Twenty-one homes sold during the month of December. As of January 16, 2019, there were 146 homes for sale with 100 active and 46 under contract. Total sales in December equaled $17,803,292.
The most expensive home sold was a 6000+ square foot home on Watroo Point in Daniel Island Park. It sold for $1,980,000. The least expensive home sold was a 1BR/1BA condo on Bucksley Lane for $145.000.
According to Renee Pote of Iron Gate Realty, the Daniel Island market during the latter part of 2018 was somewhat slower than the rest of the year.
“Last year many realtors were asking each other what was happening in the market as it became very quiet for everyone for several months. It is important to know that every month was averaging 33 homes sold until September. It was the months of September, October and November that showed the lowest number of sales with the average of about 17-20 per month. December had 21 sales,” commented Pote. She is optimistic, however, that the market is picking back up in the new year.
“We are seeing a nice increase in showings and activity as more inventory now comes on the market,” remarked Pote.
