DI market remains strong, desirable despite economy

In May, 34 homes sold on Daniel Island. The least expensive home sold was a condo at Daniels Landing which sold for $350,000. The most expensive home sold was in Daniel Island Park on Nobels Point Street, which closed at a whopping $5.6 million. 
 
Total sales for May were $52,184.737. As of June 15, a total of 59 homes were for sale on Daniel Island, with 42 of those under contract.  
 
As summer approaches, the Charleston market continues to be highly desirable. “Despite national headlines, including rising interest rates, rising inflation and a depreciating stock market, the Daniel Island market and surrounding areas remain strong,” said the Cawood Dinmore Group of Carolina One. Continued relocation to Charleston’s warm winter climate, restaurant scene, cosmopolitan allure with sand, salt and water all around are attracting families, young professionals and empty nesters alike, according to the Cawood Dinsmore Group.  
 
“While housing prices may not be able to sustain 20%-plus year over year growth, prices are more than stable.  Inventory remains a challenge. However, now we are looking ahead to securing ‘Fish Camp’ lots for our clients and other new development offerings this fall. Our optimism remains strong that Daniel Island will continue to withstand and grow despite hot topic economic concerns nationally.”
