Runners and walkers celebrate heroes!
Close to 1000 people of all ages took to the streets of Daniel Island on Nov. 19 for the 6th Annual Charleston 9/11 Heroes Run, a charitable event that honors military veterans past and present, as well as first responders. The patriotic run brought in more than $75,000 total, according to event organizer Theresa Faircloth. Once expenses are taken out, the remaining proceeds will benefit the Travis Manion Foundation, as well as Summerville Fire & Rescue and the North Charleston Fire Department. The event was originally planned for September but had to be rescheduled due to Hurricane Irma.
