Doug Dodson wins the football pick ‘em, Rosie moves into first place in sponsor competition

This week’s winner of the Pigskin Challenge is Doug Dodson. Doug was one of 10 people to beat our sponsor, the Millennium Private Wealth team of Jeff Burton and Steve Meyer, who were 9-3 last week. Doug was one of three people to pick 11 games correctly. He beat the other two in the over-under spread of the Alabama/LSU game – he was the least over as all three were well over the 10-0 score of the game.

Doug is a Citadel graduate with a BS in Civil Engineering and spent over 34 years working for Santee Cooper. Recently retired but now working for an engineering firm, Doug said, “I play your football contest because I really enjoy watching all levels of football, and it always makes it a little more interesting/exciting if I have certain teams to root for on a contest like yours, especially if there is something to win from it.”

Each week from now until the Super Bowl, readers will be given the opportunity to “Beat the Sponsor” and to win great prizes. We will email a link to the survey each Monday via a Daniel Island News eblast and we will also put the URL link on our Facebook page and here in the paper.
