Pat Fillippa beats Rosie Stieby, wins a $50 gift card to Sermet’s

Pat Fillippa beat sponsor Rosie Stieby of Daniel Island Real Estate, with a 9-4 score to her 5-7, to claim victory in last week’s Pigskin Pick’em Football Contest.

He will enjoy a nice dinner at Sermet’s Courtyard with his winnings. It proved to be a tough football weekend for both our sponsors and contestants, with many gridiron upsets. Pat, who moved from Pittsburgh in 2011, lives with his family on Daniel Island. “Wow, okay that was unexpected,” he said by email. “I play because I’m a sports fan and it seemed like fun.”

Each week between now and the Super Bowl, readers will be given an opportunity to “Beat the Sponsor” and to win great prizes. The Daniel Island News will email a link to the survey on Tuesday each week via e-blast, and will also put the URL link on its Facebook page as well as in the paper.
