Ray Uptegrove beats Dr. Jimmy - wins gift card to Daniel Island Grille

Congratulations to Ray Uptegrove for beating Dr. Jimmy Smith of Daniel Island Chiropractic in last week’s Pigskin Pick-‘Em Challenge! Ray tied for the win with a score of 9 and won the tie-breaker.

Ray was raised in Georgetown, S.C., and graduated from Winyah School and N.C. State, then worked at the Charleston Paper Mill for 40 years. He lived in Hanahan for the majority of that time, then moved to Daniel Island two years ago. Ray and his wife, Kay, have two children, Russell and Ellen, who both graduated from Clemson. Russell then graduated from MUSC and is a forensic pathologist in Ohio. Ellen earned a master’s degree from MUSC in hospital administration and is employed in Charlotte. Kay and Ray have been retired for 15 years and have four grandchildren.

Ray wrote per email, “I was surprised that I won the Pigskin Pick-’Em.”
