Storm Troopers: 'You never know which way the wind is going to blow'
Knowing full well the unpredictability of Hurricane Florence, Daniel Island/Cainhoy area residents made the best of last week’s storm developments and preparations, choosing to use the unanticipated respite as a time to gather with family and friends, take golf cart rides, catch up on house projects, read, cook, exercise and more.
Fortunately, the Charleston region made it through the storm relatively unscathed, a true blessing considering Florence’s massive power and size. That has not been the case for those to living to the north of us, where this devastating storm is continuing to wreak havoc and destruction. It is a reality that has given this vulnerable coastal community even more reason to be thankful.
We asked readers to send us photos depicting how they spent their time during the evacuation last week - whether they chose to stay close or head outside of the “cone of uncertainty.”
