Park Day returns to Children's Park on November 14

Exciting new activities and events for all ages planned for annual fall festival in Charleston’s island town

Daniel Island’s popular annual fall festival, Park Day, will return to Children’s Park, located on River Landing Drive, on the banks of the Wando River on Daniel Island, on Saturday, November 14, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A fall tradition in the Lowcountry, Park Day offers outdoor family fun and entertainment for all ages and showcases and supports a diverse range of local charitable organizations.

“New” activities planned for this year’s event are K9’s in Flight Dog Acrobatic Exhibition, Caleb Alexander the Magician, Taiko Charleston Drummers, Becky’s Box of Puppets, Corey Cox stilt walker and other activities for all ages!
Returning favorites will include giant slides, jump castles, obstacles course, mechanical bull, bungee trampolines, 30’ climbing wall and face painting galore. In addition there will be trackless train rides, Teacups & Trucks craft station, mini petting zoo, clowns, pony rides, favorite local mascots and more!

n action-packed dance and music entertainment line-up is also scheduled for this year’s Park Day, including performances by Daniel Island’s Peace Love Hip Hop. Stage entertainment by The Electric Company dance band, Midnight City Band, playing today’s top 40 hits and Park Day’s finale performance by headline band, Soul Fish, a four-piece, 80’s, 90’s, party rock band playing a variety of music styles and whose motto is, “to have a good time, all the time”.
Park Day will also offer extensive food and beverage options with a total of 16 food and beverage vendors, including a “Food Truck Rodeo” with 10 of Charleston’s favorite food trucks, collectively offering tasty lunch items of all kinds. There will also be “Field of Treats” cart vendors on the field that day with 6 of your favorite concession vendors. The Daniel Island Grill will set up an on-site Sports Pub, offering food, wine, beer and a 5 TV Mobile Entertainment Unit for watching your favorite college football games.

Since its inception fourteen years ago, Park Day has helped raise more than $300,000 for a diverse collection of more than 60 area non-profit organizations, making it one of the region’s most successful and broad-reaching charitable events. Once again this year, proceeds from ticketed activities will benefit our chosen 2015 Park Day Non-Profit beneficiaries.
Park Day takes place on Saturday, November 14th from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Children’s Park, located at the end of River Landing Drive, on the banks of the Wando River. Admission and parking are free.
