Readers speak out on Thanksgiving pie

According to a Taste of Home article, a General Electric survey says South Carolina’s favorite Thanksgiving pie is apple.

 

The Midwest and West, and a portion of the Southwest, covet a traditional pumpkin pie. Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana, lean the way of pecan pie, with Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama tying up the race between apple and pecan pie.

 

So is apple really SC’s favorite pie?

• Pumpkin chiffon. This is not the same as traditional pumpkin!

 

• Pecan pie should be our state pie. Sweet Potato Pie is the state pie of North Carolina.

 

• I wouldn’t say unique – but after a big family Thanksgiving meal, we always spend the day watching football. Perfect day.
