Castengera Team joins Corcoran HM Properties

Longtime Daniel Island resident and Realtor Sally Castengera, and her grandson, Evan Murray, recently joined Corcoran HM Properties and will be based at the firm’s newest office at 741 Meeting St. in Charleston. They were both formerly with Daniel Island Real Estate (DIRE).

 

Castengera has been selling real estate in Charleston for over 37 years and is recognized as one of the top 1% of agents in the area, having received the Realtor of Distinction Award over 20 times.  

 

In 1996, Castengera was on the team that helped launch sales for the newly master-planned Daniel Island community. During her tenure at DIRE she was awarded DIRE Realtor of the Year 16 times. She was also presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award from DIRE, where she worked for 27 years.

 

Murray is a graduate of The Citadel. A Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native, he was commissioned after graduating as an artillery officer in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was later promoted to captain. He spent the next two years stationed in the Republic of Korea as an operations officer in the 2nd Infantry Division and reunited with his wife in Charleston after completing his military service. Shortly after, he started a career in real estate because, he said, he wanted to help people find their own piece of heaven in the Lowcountry. He joined with Castengera, who is his wife’s grandmother.

 

The duo comprise the Castengera Team and they said that they are excited to expand their reach to better assist their clients in Charleston and global markets with an organization that is well equipped to do so. The team believes that Castengera’s more than 37 years of

experience in the Charleston market and Murray’s knowledge of strategic planning and financial analysis works to their clients’ benefit. Murray is also a Military Relocation Professional and understands the needs of current and former U.S. service members and their families.

 

Castengera and her husband, Philip, live on Daniel Island and in Beaufort. She enjoys golfing, Georgia Bulldog football and shopping. She is a longtime member of the Rotary Club of Daniel Island and chaplain of the East Cooper Top Producers Club. 

 

Murray and his wife, Melaina, live in Charleston with their daughter. He enjoys running, playing hockey, and volunteering time with the Rotary Club of Daniel Island, where he chaired the 2023 Charleston Duck Race. He is also a member of the Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce and the Citadel Alumni Association.
