Local businesses expand, hire, earn awards, and relocate

Carolina One Realtor Jacquie Dinsmore recently expanded her Southern Yankee Group by adding two real estate professionals specializing in marketing, sales and client relationship management: Jake Dinsmore and Ashly Grzyb.
Jake Dinsmore, who is Jacquie’s husband, combines 25+ years of technology sales experience with a passion for real estate investment. He began his career as a technology recruiter with Fortune 500 companies and excelled into a global relationship management role collaborating with executives around the world.
As an active real estate investor, Jake Dinsmore understands the value of real estate as an asset class and how to guide his clients through transactions from investment properties to land acquisition to dream homes.
He relocated from New Jersey to Daniel Island in 2017 with Jacquie and their two sons. He is an avid golfer and supporter of The LENS Foundation of Charleston – a nonprofit providing law enforcement with support to strengthen community relations and improve public safety in Charleston.
Grzyb brings 15+ years of marketing experience to Southern Yankee Group. Her career began at Hamptons Cottages & Gardens magazine, followed by Builder and Custom Home magazines, sharing luxury real estate with readers nationwide.
As Marketing Manager for the Southern Yankee Group, Ashly manages the team’s branding and communication across print and digital platforms. Her marketing strategy includes property brochures, direct mail postcards, print advertising, social media content and videos.
As an Army brat and Coast Guard spouse, Grzyb has lived in 11 states, which she sees as a great resource for relocation clients. Choosing quality of life for her family, she relocated from NYC to Daniel Island in 2018 with her husband and three children. She is active in Daniel Island School PTA and enjoys playing tennis.
“Our clients value our team expertise in concierge-level service throughout the transaction; a robust marketing strategy in print, online, and in person; knowledge of top-tier pricing and negotiation; and an exclusive professional network across the luxury home market,” Jacquie Dinsmore said.
Home Telecom was awarded two state grants totaling over $9.5 million from the South Carolina Office of Regulatory Staff (ORS), to expand rural broadband to 2,640 structures throughout Berkeley County and parts of Dorchester County. The areas most affected by the expansion are portions of Cross, Huger, Harleyville, Bates Pond/Huger South, Jedburg Road, and Lebanon.
The $9.5 million awarded by CPF is in addition to a $5.1 capital contribution from Home Telecom, bringing the total investment to nearly $14.7 million.
Construction will commence in the second quarter of 2024 with completion expected in December 2025.
For this round, the SCBBO committed $112,303,273 to eight Internet Service Providers including Home Telecom, with the capacity to connect over 16,000 locations statewide.
One of Home Telecom’s stated missions is to expand fiber infrastructure and broadband access to rural areas in the tri-county (Charleston, Dorchester, and Berkeley) area and Home Telecom has worked with ORS several times in the past.
Most recently, they provided broadband services to over 500 unserved residences, businesses and critical facilities in Berkeley and Dorchester counties after being awarded a similar 2021 grant.
Home Telecom President and CEO William Helmly said he is excited about being awarded two grants this year, “Home Telecom will be able to double rural broadband upgrades, which gives us the ability to speed up attaining our goal to provide more access to high-speed internet.”
