National cryotherapy chain opens on DI

A cold front landed on Daniel Island last month — iCRYO, one of the largest cryotherapy companies in the U.S., opened its first South Carolina location at 866 Island Park Drive. The business provides a wide variety of services including whole body cryotherapy, infrared sauna, compression therapy, IV infusions, vitamin shots, cryo-facials, and body sculpting.  

 

The Daniel Island location is the first of three facilities opened by Stephen and Cindy Powers. The Powers relocated to Daniel Island from upstate New York, where they both operated their own companies. 

 

The couple first learned about iCRYO from Cindy’s daughter, Amanda Pizzuco. She was working at iCRYO in New York when Stephen suffered a back injury so intense he had difficulty walking. “I knew our services could help him, so I suggested that he start coming in regularly. He consistently did whole body cryotherapy and infrared sauna and quickly saw the benefits as it was improving his daily life on every level. His pain lessened substantially, and he was sleeping and moving much better. As he would say, this was a complete game changer for him and got him started on the iCRYO journey,” Pizzuco said.

 

After Stephen’s positive experience, the couple decided to open locations in South Carolina to help others. “When we found iCRYO and talked to their team, we were impressed with their vision and growth, and excited by how well it aligned with our passion and vision for what we wanted to do,” Cindy said.
